Matthew Baxter
Matthew Baxter is an Irish writer and teacher who has lived in Olsztyn since 2020. He holds a BA in English Literature from the Open University and an MA in History from the University of Glasgow.
Over the last six years, Matthew has worked as a professional writer and SEO specialist within the tourism industry, creating content, optimising websites, and developing marketing strategies for tour companies and cultural organisations around the world.
As a teacher, he works with students of all ages and levels, offering lessons tailored to each learner’s interests, goals, and preferred way of learning. With a strong emphasis on conversation, culture, and real-world English, his classes are designed to build both confidence and fluency in a relaxed and engaging environment. Matthew has a particular interest in using literature, film, music, and history as gateways into language learning.
Outside of work, he is passionate about literature, European history, comics, and astronomy — subjects he is always happy to discuss in class. He is currently writing a cycle of poems about the Irish saint Colmcille.
